We all know that as people grow up, their sense of style changes. We become influenced by magazines, celebrities, trends, and try to develop our own sense of style, while at the same time staying true to ourselves.

Yes, people change, and so do their sense of style, but on several discussion forums, people started noticing who Michelle Phan derived her style from:

Singaporean Arissa Cheo.

Arissa sports a rocker-chic style that suits her body. Michelle’s current style feels very forced and to be honest, does not go well with her face or body type. Here are a few examples of the glaring similarities:

Did she even get the idea of posing with her pets from Arissa?

I can’t blame Michelle for copying her. Arissa is freakin’ hot! However, for someone who went to art school and is supposed to be creative and original, it seems kind of pathetic that she’s copying her down to the little details. Maybe Michelle thought that since Arissa isn’t as well known in the U.S., no one would notice. It’s not accurate to say that she copied her completely, but the peculiar number of similarities reveals that she isn’t as original as she presents herself to be.
